Frequently Asked Questions
What to Expect at CRSO Performances
Let the music touch your emotions or bring about recollection of fond memories. Feel the rhythms: the ebbs and flows, the power or delicacy. Also pay attention to the interaction between the musicians and the conductor because music is only as passionate as the individuals playing it.
Expect to enjoy yourself!
How do I get to the performance hall?
The CRSO presents its performances at the Morehead Conference Center. There is plenty of parking surrounding the MCC. See Maps & Location for more details.
What will the concert be like?
Orchestral music comes in a wide variety of shapes and sizes and has much to offer. It can be exciting, moving, funny, and often surprising. Odds are, you will be touched by the music and enjoy having the opportunity to hear it.
What should I wear?
While there is no dress code for the CRSO performances, most patrons typically wear comfortable business-like attire. Others will choose to wear either dressier or casual clothing. Be comfortable and enjoy the performance!
Are there certain traditions or etiquette during the concert that I need to know about?
There are certain things that all concert patrons need to be familiar with. Please refrain from entering and leaving the concert hall during the actual performance. If you talk, please whisper. Small children must always remain in their seats.
How long does the typical performance last?
Program lengths vary, but the typical CRSO performance will last from about 60 to 75 minutes, including one intermission, which is at the halfway point. Most intermissions are 15 minutes long, allowing you enough time to stretch your legs, socialize, or to browse through the program booklet again.
